IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the country

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh today. Parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab and Sikkim are also likely to witness heavy rainfall during the next 2-3 days.
 
The weather department also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in places over Northeast India, along with Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal, and Sikkim. According to the Met Department, strong surface winds are expected to prevail today in places over Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, Odisha and Saurashtra and Kutch.
