The Alipore Weather Office in Kolkata of the India Meteorological Department forecasts rain over the districts of South Bengal with thundershowers. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur, and Howrah.
There is a forecast of heavy rainfall over Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Nadia, Purba Bardhaman and Bankura.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunder showers is also expected in the districts of north Bengal, with increased rainfall prediction from Thursday. A cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal is likely to be formed into low pressure area today and subsequently into a severe low-pressure area, which will move towards the Odisha coast on Friday.
