The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over parts of North East India, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Saurashtra and Kutch today. The met department also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Similar conditions are expected over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Vidarbha.
Meanwhile, the weathermen have advised fishermen not to venture into the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal till 5th October.
