In Wimbledon Tennis, the five-time Grand Slam champion, Iga Swiatek will clash with 13th seed Amanda Anisimova for the Women’s Singles title at the Centre Court in London tonight. The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM Indian Standard Time.

Eight-seed Polish player Swiatek routed unseeded Belinda Bencic of Switzerland in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 on Thursday to reach her first Wimbledon final.

On the other hand, Anisimova of the United States defeated world number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the other semifinal clash to also reach her maiden Wimbledon final.

In Men’s Singles, World Number One Jannik Sinner defeated seven-time champion Novak Djokovic with a commanding 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory in the semi-final last night to set up title clash with second seed Carloz Alcaraz of Spain tomorrow.

Talking to reporters after the match, 23-year-old Sinner expressed happiness at becoming the fifth player who made it to the final of every Grand Slam since 1995.

Sinner and Alcaraz will face off in the final for the second consecutive Grand Slam. The two previously battled in a thrilling French Open final last month, where Alcaraz emerged victorious. This time, Sinner will be making his maiden appearance in a Wimbledon final, while Alcaraz enters as the two-time defending champion.
