In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections Tripura police is now going whole hog to get prepared to conduct the polls in a free and fair manner.

IGP Law &Order Soumitra Dhar himself has been holding review meetings and giving directions at district levels. On Tuesday IGP Dhar conducted preparatory meetingat Sepahijala where SP Bogati Jagadeeswar Reddy, Ashish Kumar Probationer, SDPOs, Other Senior officers and OC PSs were present.

In the meeting detail discussion was held on the preparation of law and order issues like increasing visibility of police by way of area domination, beat policing and road patrolling in order to prevent crimes and maintain peaceful situation in the district. The OGP also stressed on improving the police public relation by way of Prayaas meetings and awareness campaign at rural and urban areas and directed the officials to take preventive actions against trouble mongers, conduct raids and increase seizures against those involved in  gambling, NDPS  and liquor activities.

He said that no compromise should be made in preventing any kind of anti- social elements who might disturb the peace and tranquillity. They should detained under various relevant sections of law.

Sources said, Dhar also asked his personnel to increase regular Nakka checking and conduct special vehicle checking drive in order to prevent RTA and enforce traffic rules under MV Act. He gave special emphasis on demonstration of traffic enforcement.
