The Fresher’s Welcome Programme “Novatos-2K23” of ICFAI University in Tripura was held in the University Campus at Kamalghat on Friday last.
The programme has been organized every year by the University to welcome the new batch of students joined the University.
The Minister for Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Law (Parliamentary Affairs) and Election, government of Tripura, Ratanlal Nath, has inaugurated the programme as Chief Guest.
Besides, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, Satyendra Singh and General Manager of NABARD Tripura Loken Das, have also graced the programme as Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Biplab Halder, welcomed the Minister, dignitaries and the students who have taken admission into 57 different disciplines during 2023-24 sessions.
Prof. Halder has explained about the unique quality academic infrastructure of the University with modern facilities and various academic supports to facilitate the students on his speech. He also informed that the ICFAI University Campus become the world class first True 5G campus in North East India as certified by Reliance Jio and Airtel.
General Manager of NABARD, Loken Das and Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, Satyendra Singh also spoke in the programme.
The Minister emphasizes that “Only study is not enough, real pursuit of knowledge is the main objective of education and the teachers are the tools for transforming knowledge to the students with skills”.
Nath advised the students not to become a Job seeker but to be a job giver.
He also urged to the students to become a good citizen by setting a goal to build their bright future and to work hard for achieving the success.
“India is moving towards “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”, Our State Tripura is also moving towards “Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura”, like way ICFAI is moving towards “Ek ICFAI, Shrestha ICFAI”, the minister said.
The inauguration programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. A Ranganath, Registrar of the University.
After the inaugural programme, a cultural programme performed by the students of the University and later the famous Play-back singer Subhadeep Das Chowdhury, winner of Super Singer Season 4, Top 10 finalist from Indian Idol and Silver Medal Holder in Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has entertained the audiences with his popular playback songs.
The University authority expressed its heartiest thanks through a press release to all stakeholders for successful completion of the event.
