The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Secretary, Sanjay Jaju has emphasised upon creation of more indigenous programmes and region-specific content that resonates with the cultural ethos of Jammu & Kashmir. During his review of Doordarshan and Akashvani programming and news dissemination system at Srinagar, Shri Jaju encouraged all media units in Kashmir region to develop programming and news content in local languages to enhance regional outreach and viewer connect.
The Secretary said the public broadcasting in a region like Jammu & Kashmir must not only inform but also inspire. He said by promoting local languages, expanding news content, and leveraging our platforms, we aim to create a stronger, more inclusive media presence that truly reflects the voice and diversity of the region.
Secretary Information J&K Government Muneer-ul Islam, Director, Information J&K Nitish Rajora, besides senior officials from CBC, PIB and programme, news and engineering wings of DDK and Akashvani Srinagar, were present during the review meetings.
