As the Parliament session is over now the Rajya Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is all set to join the party’s poll campaign whole hog.
In a press conference held in his official residence Deb said since his obligations to attend the Parliament and raise the Tripura issues there had been completed for this session it was time that he would begin his campaign. He also sought cooperation from the people in his reach-out venture.
“Its time to reach out to the people of the state -in all its nook and corner as I did before the 2018 assembly elections. I would now bring to the electorate all that good works were done and how under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP government here people of the state benefited”, he said adding that Tripura’s development was closely linked with the Prime Minister Modi.
:Without Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji the state will would once again start languishing and lagging behind”, he maintained.
Deb also gave details about the issues that he had raised in the Parliament’s Winter session as Rajya Sabha member.
The pointed out that during the 13-day Session this perhaps for the first time that Tripura issues were discussed in the House almost every day. The issues that were raised in the House included discussion on Tripura’s Agar industry for around two and half hours . It was when Deb demanded an Agar Boad , interestingly enough MPs cutting across the party lines supported him unequivocally.
Apart from that important matters like increased NEC share for Tripura, setting up of ASI circle office in Tripura, re-opening of Border Haat, operationalization of Maitri Setu, Sonamura- Daudkandi waterway, Kailashahar airport etc were also raised the former Chief Minister in the Parliament.
In the press conference, Deb also said, the state saw huge success towards building Neshamukt Tripura. Citing a report presented by Home Minister Amit Shah in the House, Deb said Tripura’s success in the fight against drugs is in the top position.
