Hrithik Roshan praises Shahid Kapoor as the best in quirky roles after watching O’Romeo. The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial, based on Mafia Queens of Mumbai, wins acclaim as Hrithik urges fans to watch the action-packed thriller in theatres.

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has publicly lauded fellow actor Shahid Kapoor, calling him the “best” when it comes to pulling off quirky roles. The praise came after Hrithik watched Shahid’s latest film, O’Romeo, and shared his appreciation on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Hrithik’s endorsement has quickly grabbed attention across the industry and among fans, adding to the growing buzz surrounding the film. Expressing his admiration for Shahid’s performance, Hrithik wrote that the “quirkiness” of the film eventually wins viewers over. He described his viewing experience as thoroughly entertaining and commended Shahid for mastering a genre that demands a delicate balance of eccentricity and emotional depth.

“The quirkiness of #ORomeo eventually wins you over. I had fun. @shahidkapoor you do this genre BEST. Too good you are. Go watch it in the theatres guys. Also that running in circles action was brilliant,” Hrithik posted, highlighting a particular action sequence that stood out to him.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s Crime Drama Draws Attention

O’Romeo is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by crime journalist Hussain Zaidi. Known for his gripping storytelling and layered characters, Bhardwaj brings to life a crime saga that blends intensity with unconventional narrative elements.

The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Vikrant Massey.

The storyline follows Ustara, a deadly contract killer working for the Intelligence Bureau, who agrees to help a woman named Afsha avenge her husband’s murder. Their mission takes them from Mumbai’s underworld to Spain, weaving a tale of betrayal, revenge, and moral ambiguity. Shahid’s portrayal of Ustara reportedly blends dark humor, intensity, and unpredictability — qualities that Hrithik believes he executes better than anyone else in the industry.

Industry Camaraderie on Display

Hrithik’s public praise reflects a sense of camaraderie in Bollywood, where actors often support each other’s projects despite box office competition. Industry observers note that such endorsements from major stars can significantly boost a film’s visibility and commercial prospects.

Shahid Kapoor, known for his versatility in films ranging from romantic dramas to psychological thrillers, has often experimented with offbeat characters. Hrithik’s comment reinforces Shahid’s reputation as an actor unafraid to embrace complex and unconventional roles.

Hrithik’s Own Action Legacy Continues

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan was last seen in War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. It also stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Kiara Advani, with pivotal roles played by Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor.

In War 2, Hrithik reprises his role as Kabir Dhaliwal, a former RAW agent who turns rogue and becomes a threat to national security. The high-octane action thriller further cements Hrithik’s position as one of Bollywood’s leading action stars.

A Reflective Side Beyond the Screen

Beyond cinema, Hrithik recently shared a reflective and philosophical note inspired by American poet Wendell Berry. Posting images of snow-capped mountains, serene lakes, and clear blue skies, Hrithik spoke about change, freedom, and self-realisation. His message resonated with fans, showcasing a contemplative side that contrasts with his on-screen persona.
