The Hong Kong Open 2025 badminton tournament will begin today. Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will lead India’s charge at the tournament. Sindhu will take on European Championships silver medallist Line Christophersen of Denmark in her opening round match.
In the men’s singles section, Lakshya Sen will also seek a good run, having struggled to produce his best in the 2025 season. He will be joined in the men’s singles section by countrymen HS Prannoy and Ayush Shetty. Former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth will begin his Hong Kong Open campaign in the qualification round, where he will face Tharun Mannepalli in an all-Indian clash.
India’s challenge in the men’s doubles, on the other hand, will be spearheaded by Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. India’s Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi will also feature in the men’s doubles at the BWF Super 500 tournament. Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto and Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde will be in action in the mixed doubles section.
