Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled PNG connections to 41 villages in Delhi under the Dilli Gramoday Abhiyan on Monday. He also inaugurated other development works in 178 villages worth 383 crores. At a function in New Delhi, Mr Shah said the Modi Government has created a different culture in the last 10 years. He said, earlier, only promises were made, but now people can see changes on the ground, and each promise made before elections is completed within that term. He also said that the Modi government is committed to development in all sectors, be it infrastructure, gas, health, housing, and others.
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, said that the Government is continuously working in the direction to provide gas connections, resulting in over one crore PNG connections provided since 2014. The number of gas connections has risen from 14 crores to 33 crores since 2015.

The objective of the Dilli Gramoday Abhiyan is the establishment and enhancement of essential infrastructure. It also aims to focus on scientific livestock management, livelihood initiatives, healthcare facilities, water management, and efficient land use, among other goals.

Delhi’s Lieutenant-General VK Saxena launched the Dilli Gramoday Abhiyan in December last year to develop the city’s urbanised villages. Financed and executed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the campaign was launched with a dedicated budget exceeding 800 crore rupees.
