In France, a Holocaust memorial in Lyon was defaced with a “Free Gaza” inscription. City officials said the act fueled concerns over an increase in anti-Jewish acts and hate crimes in France.
Lyon’s mayor, Grégory Doucet, condemned the vandalism as “an intolerable act” and pledged that those responsible would be identified and brought to justice.
