Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, this year a total of  24,548 students took admission in 22 Government Degree Colleges across the state. As it stands  the figure was highest in recent years.

Nath said, 18,324 students had taken college admission in the Academic Year 2019-20 and 18,700 students in 2021-21. This year, the figure increased to 24,584.

Speaking to the media at his office in the Civil Secretariat, Nath said the state government considering the Covid situation decided to conduct Higher Secondary and Madhyamik examinations in two phases– Term I and Term II.

In Term I, the Higher Secondary examinations would continue from December 15, this year to January 7, next year and the Madhyamik examinations would be held from December 16 to December 29.

Nath said the syllabus has already been reduced by 30 percent and in Term-I, examination would be held for 35 percent syllabus. The Term-II examinations would be conducted in April, next year, Nath told the media.
