Harry Brook rises to a career-best fourth in ICC T20I batting rankings after England’s Sri Lanka series, while Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed becomes the top-ranked T20I bowler. Jos Buttler, Jamie Overton, Shreyas Iyer and several other players also make significant gains.
England captain Harry Brook has climbed to a career-best fourth position in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings following his impressive performance against Sri Lanka, while Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has claimed the top position in the T20I bowling rankings for the first time in his career.
The latest rankings update, announced on Wednesday, reflected several significant movements across the batting and bowling charts after recent international matches. Brook was one of the biggest beneficiaries, moving up five places after playing a key role in England’s 3-0 T20I series sweep over Sri Lanka.
The 27-year-old scored 170 runs during the series, including a match-winning unbeaten 114 in Southampton. His performances earned him the Player of the Series award and helped England complete a clean sweep against Sri Lanka. Brook, who currently occupies the number one position in the ICC Test batting rankings, has now moved closer to a top-10 position in the ODI rankings as well.
Brook also climbed three places to 12th in the ODI batting rankings. The latest movement leaves him close to breaking into the top 10 in all three international formats, highlighting his growing presence across England’s white-ball and red-ball teams.
India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan continues to lead the T20I batting rankings. Brook’s England teammate Jos Buttler also made progress, moving two places to fifth after collecting 172 runs during the Sri Lanka series.
India captain Shreyas Iyer gained seven places to reach joint-22nd in the T20I batting rankings, while England batter Tom Banton made one of the biggest jumps, moving 30 places to 60th.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed moved to the summit with a rating of 736 points. The leg-spinner benefited from Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan losing one rating point after his recent outing against India in New Delhi. Rashid’s decline brought an end to his six-month spell at the top of the T20I bowling rankings.
Abrar has now become the fifth Pakistan bowler to reach the number one position in the T20I bowling rankings. He joins Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi among Pakistan’s bowlers who have previously occupied the top spot.
England’s Jamie Overton also recorded a major rise in the latest rankings. After taking five wickets against Sri Lanka, Overton moved up 47 places to a career-best sixth position among T20I bowlers. His England teammate Liam Dawson climbed 12 places to 11th.
India’s spin department also registered notable gains. Axar Patel moved up 12 places to 15th, while Ravi Bishnoi advanced five places to 35th in the T20I bowling rankings.
Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai climbed three places to 49th, while England’s Will Jacks moved up to 58th among T20I bowlers. Jacks also reached third position in the T20I all-rounders rankings.
There were also notable movements in the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza climbed five places to 24th after scoring 45 and an unbeaten 81 in the final two matches of Zimbabwe’s series against Australia.
Australia’s Josh Inglis rose 11 places to 30th, while Zimbabwe’s Craig Ervine gained seven places to reach 65th. England’s Will Jacks also moved two places to 77th in the ODI batting rankings.

Among ODI bowlers, Australia pacer Nathan Ellis advanced three places to a career-best 17th after taking nine wickets in the Zimbabwe series. Sri Lanka fast bowler Asitha Fernando also made progress, moving from 39th to 30th following his three-wicket haul against England in Chester-le-Street.
The latest ICC rankings underline the strong individual performances produced across recent T20I and ODI series, with Brook, Abrar Ahmed and several other international players making significant gains in their respective categories.
