Gujarat High Court today conducted the hearing regarding the Rajkot Fire tragedy. The bench comprising Justices Biren Vaishnav and Devan Desai expressed deep concerns over the incident.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat government informed the court that a special investigation team, headed by the Additional Director General of CID-Crime, was set up to probe the incident. The government said, the interim report from the SIT is expected to be ready within the next three days.

In a related development, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi visited the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar today and reviewed the operations of FSL in preparing the DNA report of the deceased of the fire tragedy in Rajkot. Mr Sanghavi said the state government is sensitive about the tragic incident.

Earlier in the day, the Gujarat government suspended seven officials including two police officers, in connection with the Rajkot-fire tragedy.
