Deepavali brought delight for the common people on Wednesday as both the State and Central governments have slashed the petrol and diesel prices on the eve of Kalipuja and Deepavali. After the central government reduced the excise duty of petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively, the State Government has also announced further cut in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 7 each.
Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote in his social media, “Following Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji led central govt’s decision on reduction of excise duty on petrol & diesel. #Tripura govt has also decided to reduce petrol & diesel cost by ₹ 7 from tomorrow. After central and state governments deduction in fuel prices, petrol and diesel will be cheaper by ₹12 and ₹17 respectively in #Tripura from tomorrow”.
