Govt to Launch Single Window Clearance System for Live Events via India Cine Hub

Must Read

A dedicated online Single Window Clearance Mechanism will be developed on the India Cine Hub platform for the live events industry. The decision was taken during the first Meeting of the Joint Working Group on promotion of the Live Events Industry in New Delhi for ease of doing business. The meeting was chaired by Information and Broadcasting Secretary, Sanjay Jaju.

During the meeting, it was also decided to launch a Centralised Digital Music Licensing Registry by October this year in collaboration with rights societies.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jaju underlined the Government’s commitment to establishing India as one of the top five global live entertainment destinations by 2030, with the potential to generate 15 to 20 million jobs. He also said that the Joint Working Group will work in mission mode to harness the concert economy as a driver of infrastructure creation, employment, tourism, and cultural soft power.

The committee was constituted in July this year, under the directions of the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The Joint Working Group has brought together representatives of Central and State Governments, industry associations, music rights societies, and major event companies to shape India’s concert economy. India’s live entertainment market, valued at over 20 thousand crore rupees in 2024 and growing at 15 per cent annually is among the fastest-growing segments of the media and entertainment industry.

With rising demand across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, the sector is emerging as a critical pillar of India’s creative economy.
