Govt Implementing Integrated Development Of Wildlife Habitats Scheme For Protection Of Wildlife Across Country

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav has said that the government is implementing the Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats scheme for the protection, conservation and management of wildlife habitats across the country.
 
Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha today, Mr Yadav said, under the scheme, the centre provides financial assistance to States and UTs for conservation of wildlife habitats and management of human-wildlife conflict. He said, 24 species have been included in the endangered list and the government is working for their preservation and conservation. The Minister informed the House that the government has formulated a Standard Operating Procedure, SOP as part of the project Elephant to minimise human-wildlife conflict. Mr Yadav urged States to implement this SOP to check human-wildlife conflict.
