The Council of Ministers on Saturday decided to extend appointments and also create posts in departments like Higher Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Home and Horticulture. A total of 188 posts will be filled up with the Saturday’s cabinet decision.
ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said there are as many as 22 sanctioned posts of Principal which are lying vacant in the degree colleges across the state. The positions are run by in charge Principals. The Higher Education department got the nod of the Finance department to fill up 20 posts of Principal of Degree colleges. Soon the posts will be filled up through TPSC.
Apart from that, for the Higher Education department the cabinet approved filling up of 10 posts- including six Assistant Professors, two Associate Professors and two professors. They would be required for M.Ed course.
The cabinet also gave green signal for four vacant posts of Principal in Polytechnic Colleges.
In one of the significant step for sports and youth affairs as well as Education department the cabinet also approved recruitment of 150 junior Physical Instructors (PI).
“There are 995 sanctioned posts and the proposal was placed for 300 posts. Out of them Finance department had given concurrence for 150 posts. These posts creation and recruitment will start off soon—within one month only”, said Chowdhury.
The cabinet also amended the Tripura Stenographer Service recruitment earmarking 40 marks for compulsory shorthand.
To extend the Forensic Science benefits across the state the government had decided to set up a mobile Forensic Laboratory in Ambassa, Dhalai district under Home Department. For this four posts have been created. Besides government will also appoint Chief Executive Officer of Tripura Horticulture Corporation by a retired and experienced officer with requisite educational qualifications like PhD etc . The appointment will be of one year and fully on contract.
