New Delhi: The government has scheduled an all-party meeting at 11 am on December 2 ahead of the upcoming Winter session of Parliament, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi.

The Winter session is set to start on December 4 and will run until December 22, Joshi had said on November 9 in a statement on X.

The session will consist of 15 sittings, spanning over a period of 19 days, according to the post.

Usually, the all-party meeting is scheduled a day before the commencement of the session, but this time it has been moved up by a day due to vote counting for five states on December 3, coinciding with the originally planned date for the meeting.

In the upcoming session, TMC MP Mahua Moitras expulsion, recommended by the parliamentary panel, will be presented in the Lok Sabha. The House needs to adopt the report for the expulsion to take effect.

Additionally, three key bills that will replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act are expected to be discussed.

Another significant bill awaiting consideration relates to the appointment of the chief election commissioner and election commissioners.

Despite being introduced in the Monsoon session, the government did not push for its passage in the special session due to opposition and protests, as it seeks to align the status of CEC and ECs with that of the cabinet secretary.
