Govinda, who was about to catch a flight to Kolkata for an event on Tuesday, suffered the injury below his knee due to the misfiring.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 am when the actor was getting ready for the flight. He was alone when the firing took place.

The Shiv Sena leader was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

In an audio message, Govinda on Tuesday said, I was hit by a bullet which has now been extracted. I thank the doctors and people who are praying for me, the actor said.
