Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu releases five books at RS Bhawan, including first-ever Kokborok children’s literature, Telugu–Bengali dictionary, traditional cuisine documentation, and a comprehensive guide on government schemes and development projects in India.

Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday released five newly published books at a formal programme held at RS Bhawan, marking a significant milestone in the state’s literary and cultural landscape. The books, published by PP Publications, cover a wide range of subjects including children’s literature, language learning, traditional cuisine, and government welfare initiatives.

Among the five books, two are children’s literature titles written in Kokborok, making this the first-ever publication of children’s books in the language. The development is being widely welcomed by literary scholars, educators, and cultural activists, who see it as a major step towards preserving and promoting indigenous languages among younger generations.

One of the children’s books, a rhyme collection titled “Blogging Sheep”, has been authored by Bikashrai Debbarma. The book aims to engage children through rhythmic storytelling while encouraging early language learning in Kokborok. Another children’s title, “The Story of the Tiger Cub”, is primarily a translated work. The original content belongs to Telugu children’s literature, and the translation into Kokborok was jointly undertaken by Bikashrai Debbarma and Suprachita Debbarma, making the story accessible to a new linguistic audience.

In another landmark contribution, the book “Learn Bengali in Telugu” has been described as the first Telugu–Bengali dictionary in the state’s publishing history. Written by Prashant Aditya Modak and Bonda Venkata Prasad, the book is expected to serve as an important learning tool for students, teachers, and language enthusiasts seeking to bridge linguistic gaps between regions.

Bikashrai Debbarma has also authored “Song Borok”, a book that documents traditional cooking methods of indigenous dishes such as Godok, Chakhui, and Mosdong. Beyond recipes, the book explores the nutritional value, historical background, and associated folktales and myths, offering a comprehensive insight into the region’s culinary heritage.

The fifth book released at the event, “Government Schemes and Projects in India”, provides a compiled overview of various government welfare schemes and development initiatives. Authored by Bonda Venkata Prasad and Sitansu Ranjan Dey, the publication aims to serve as a reference guide for citizens, researchers, and policymakers.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu emphasized the importance of literature in preserving culture, spreading knowledge, and strengthening social awareness. The event concluded with appreciation for the authors and publishers for contributing to inclusive education, cultural documentation, and public awareness through literature.
