As a demonstration of India’s steadfast dedication to eradicating terrorism, the seven multiparty parliamentary delegations are engaged in high-level discussions during their official visits abroad. The all-party parliamentary delegation led by NCP (SCP) Supriya Sule met with the leaders of African National Congress led by Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula. Speaking to media, Mr Mbalula said that South Africa has pledged solidarity with India in terms of engagement in the fight against terrorism.
ANC leaders welcomed and appreciated the briefing by the delegation and also expressed solidarity with India and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The multi-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde has reached Sierra Leone after concluding their visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sources said that in an extraordinary gesture, Sierra Leone Parliament observed a moment of silence in honour of victims of Pahalgam terror attack on 22nd April in the presence of the All-Party delegation today. All-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark. The delegation was received by India’s Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is leading an all-party delegation in Panama today reaffirmed India’s firm stance against terrorism and underlined that the country will not turn the other cheek and will respond to any further attack. Speaking at an event organised by the Indian Embassy in Panama, Mr Tharoor said, the ghastly terror attack in Pahalgam was in pursuance of a cynical set of objectives that the Pakistani military wants to pursue to undermine the Kashmiri economy, which was booming with tourism and also India.
In a social media post, Mr Tharoor said that Indian Ambassador to Panama Dr Sumit Seth has done a spectacular job in raising India’s profile in Panama and maintaining excellent relations with the highest levels of government.
Meanwhile, the multi-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda to Saudi Arabia visited Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. The delegation was welcomed by President Dr. Abdulmajeed Albanyan. The delegation shared strong concerns about cross-border terrorism and the position of zero tolerance against terrorism.
The delegation led by DMK MP K Kanimozhi met with senior officials from Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou, key members of the Greek Parliament, leading policy experts, and the media. In a focused session with members of the Greece-India Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Committee on Defense and Foreign Affairs, the Indian delegation underscored New Delhi’s uncompromising approach toward terrorism. They firmly conveyed that there can be no differentiation between terrorist actors and those who abet or shelter them. The Indian side called for Greece’s backing in ensuring accountability for those who orchestrate, carry out, or fund such acts of violence.
During the meeting with Deputy Minister Chatzivasileiou, the delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the brutal terrorist strike in Pahalgam, detailing India’s proportionate and restrained reaction. They emphasized India’s unwavering determination to eliminate the scourge of terrorism through strategic and deliberate measures.
The all-party Parliamentary delegation led by Sanjay Kumar Jha held an insightful interaction with scholars and researchers from Indonesia based think tanks and academia in Jakarta. It conveyed a strong and unified message of zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism to maintain peace and regional stability and sought to jointly explore ways to combat this menace.
