Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed that Germany has decided to increase the annual visa quota for skilled Indian professionals from 20 thousand to 90 thousand. He was addressing the 18th Asia Pacific Conference of German Business in New Delhi. He said, the decision to increase visas aims to fulfil Germany’s demand for skilled workers and strengthen economic cooperation with India and as a result, Indian professionals will have increased job opportunities in Germany, strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said that talent, technology, innovation and infrastructure are the tools of India’s growth. He said today’s  India stands on the four strong pillars of democracy, demography, demand and data. He said, India – Germany relations are strengthening at every level. He said this is the 25th year of the India-Germany strategic partnership and the coming 25 years will give newer heights to this relationship. Mr. Modi added that today India is becoming the biggest center of diversification and de-risking. He also said the Indo-Pacific region is very important for the future of the world.

 In his address at the 18th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that India is the world’s biggest democracy and the fastest-growing major economy with the most rapidly expanding renewable energy sector of any major economy. He also emphasised enhancing the cooperation between India and Germany.
