The premier hospital in the state GB Hospital is going for a major facelift with introduction of several modern facilities both for the patients and also for the relatives and people who accompany the patients in the hospital, said Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik.
While the Super Speciality Block is expected to be functional by this year end, if everything goes as planned then the main referal hospital of the state GB Hospital of Agartala will soon be made wholly paperless. The endeavour has been taken under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, said Bhowmik on Monday after visiting the hospital. She held meeting with all the concerned health department officials including . Health Secretary and District Magistrate of West Tripura, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
The Central minister said, all steps were taken to introduce e-hospital facilities in the GB Hospital within next three months. It would take three more months to make it a full-fledged service . The Rogi Kalyan Samity would finance the project, Bhowmik added, who also happened to be the chairperson of the Rogi Kalyan Samity.
Not only introduction of the e-facilities but also doctors, nurses and other health staff would be imparted training for the e-hospital service.
The Minister of State also said that a four storied shelter house (G+3) would soon be set up in the hospital by the Urban Development department
Bhowmik said apart from turning the GB hospital digital the super specialty block would start also become functional within this year. Apart from this there would also be new generic medicine counters in the hospital premises by September 30 so that the patients can get prescribed generic medicines at much lower price.
