Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated with Grandeur Across Maharashtra; Emphasis on Eco-Friendly Festivities

In a festive and joyous atmosphere, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are underway across Maharashtra with great enthusiasm. At Raj Bhavan, Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan performed the pran-pratishtha and aarti of an eco-friendly idol crafted by inmates of Nashik Central Jail. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde welcomed Lord Ganesha at his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai.
 
In the city, famous idols like Chinchpoklicha Chintamani and Lalbaugcha Raja were installed along with around 12,000 public and 1.25 lakh household Ganesh idols. Pune witnessed the installation of the city’s five Manache Ganpati and the start of the 37th Pune Festival, featuring eight days of cultural programs. In Nagpur, large crowds thronged Tekdi Ganpati, while in Kolhapur, the idol was installed at the Ambabai temple. Jalgaon district launched the “One Village, One Ganpati” initiative across 160 villages.
 
In Buldhana, a 150-year-old wooden idol of Lord Ganesha was reinstalled in a new temple with a grand Kalash Yatra. Palghar hosted eco-friendly Ganesh competitions, while Dhule saw the installation of Shreemantaraja Ganpati by State Minister Jaykumar Rawal. Ratnagiri recorded over 1.69 lakh private idols and 126 public installations. Celebrations also spread to Solapur, Nanded, Latur, Beed, Nashik, Hingoli, and even Delhi, where an idol was installed at Maharashtra Sadan by MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde. This year, emphasis has been placed on eco-friendly celebrations, with authorities ensuring facilities and tight security across the state.
