Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha praises NCC cadets at Tripura NCC Fest 2025, highlighting their role in shaping the state’s future through discipline, unity, and patriotism. NCC serves as a foundation for youth to serve in India’s armed forces.

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, today lauded the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets for their unwavering dedication and service to society, emphasizing that the future of Tripura lies securely in their capable hands. Dr. Saha made these remarks at the inauguration of the Tripura NCC Fest 2025, held at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) in Narsingarh, Agartala.

The NCC Fest 2025, a vibrant celebration of youth discipline, unity, and national service, brought together hundreds of cadets dressed in the iconic khaki uniform, symbolizing commitment and patriotism. The event served as a platform to acknowledge the role of the NCC in shaping the character and future prospects of Tripura’s youth.

Reflecting on his personal experience, Dr. Saha shared that he was an NCC cadet himself back in 1970, during his Class 11. “Whatever I have learned from the NCC, I will never forget. It laid the foundation for my life. I was honored with an award then, though I did not expect it. Today’s cadets receive even greater benefits, but the essence remains the same: dedication and patriotism,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the transformation in societal values regarding patriotism, which he attributed to the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Earlier, patriotism was not as evident in society, but now, thanks to PM Modi’s efforts, the spirit of nationalism is deeply ingrained among our youth,” he remarked.

Dr. Saha reminded the audience that the NCC is more than just a parade force. It is a training ground for future soldiers who may serve in the Army, Navy, or Air Force. “NCC cadets are not soldiers yet, but they will be in the future. The NCC acts as the foundational stepping stone for their military careers,” he added.

One of the key messages from the Chief Minister was the importance of discipline, a value often challenged by indiscipline which “acts like a magnet” attracting youth to negative paths. “The NCC will help young people remain disciplined and focused. Today, we are not just celebrating a festival; we are celebrating the spirit of unity, discipline, and service that the NCC embodies,” Dr. Saha said.

Established in July 1948, the NCC is recognized as the largest uniformed youth organization in the world. Its presence in Tripura has steadily grown, bridging the gap between uniformed services and civil society. Dr. Saha noted the special significance of this in Tripura, a border state that demands heightened vigilance and resilience from its citizens.

“Our NCC cadets in Tripura have always been at the forefront — not only during parades but also in their service to society. This Fest 2025 is a landmark event, celebrating the dedication of youth to the nation’s progress and security,” he said.

Dr. Saha also reflected on the role of youth in shaping the nation’s future amid rapid technological advancements and global challenges. “The character of a nation is defined by the character of its youth, the Yuva Shakti. When our young people wear the NCC uniform, they rise above caste, creed, religion, and community, embodying the unity and strength we need for a developed India—Viksit Bharat,” he emphasized.

The Chief Minister’s words resonated deeply with the assembled cadets and attendees, reinforcing the message that the spirit of the NCC goes beyond uniform and drills. It is a movement dedicated to fostering patriotism, discipline, and a commitment to service among young citizens.

The Tripura NCC Fest 2025 concluded with cultural programs, demonstrations of skills learned by cadets, and a renewed pledge from participants to serve the nation with honor and dedication.
