FPIs Invest ₹30,919 Crore in Indian stock market in August so far

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have remained net buyers of Indian equities so far in August. According to the latest depository data, FPIs have invested 30, 919 crore rupees in the domestic stock market so far this month.
 
Of the total investment, 18,791 crore rupees came through purchases on stock exchanges, while 12,128 crore rupees were invested through the primary market. The FPIs have extended their buying streak to a second consecutive month, supported by resilient domestic fundamentals, a stable rupee, strong quarterly earnings and a reversal in chip trade.
 

Meanwhile, the debt market has witnessed a mixed trend in Foreign Portfolio Investors flows. So far in August, FPIs have infused 289 crore rupees in the debt securities through Voluntary Retention Route (VRR). The Fully Accessible Route (FAR) has seen inflows of 627 crore rupees during the period under review. In contrast, FPIs have withdrawn 2,318 crore rupees from the General Limit route.
