The flood situation is improving steadily in absence of further rains. While the water level of the rivers is decreasing waterlogging in the urban areas is also clearing fast. However, low lying lands which were inundated are still reeling under water.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday morning has taken an aerial view in an IAF chopper of the flood situation in Gomati and South Tripura districts.

The government in the mean time also entrusted some senior officials with additional charges and bestowed upon them specific tasks to oversee the rescue operations and relief distribution.

According to a notification issued on Thursday Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Special Secretary to the will hold the charge of Special DM and Collector, Gomati District, Tripura.
