Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today said that the Fit India Sundays on Cycle movement has reached over seven lakh participants across more than 40 thousand locations nationwide.
The Minister said this while participating in the ‘Sundays on cycle Fit India’ event in the national capital. During the event Mr. Mandaviya flagged off the 35th Fit India Sundays on Cycle Tiranga Rally with Panchayat Representatives. He highlighted that, Panchayat representatives in more than 50 thousand villages across the country have spread the message of Fit India in rural India by participating in it.
Mr Mandaviya mentioned that Fit India Mission has emerged as a major movement in the country in the form of Sundays on Cycle. He emphasised on the diverse benefits of cycling, both on an individual’s health as well as the health of the environment. Furthermore, he called cycling as the measure of being fit and solving the problem of pollution.
The Minister urged citizens to adopt cycling wholeheartedly, not just on Sundays, but as a part of daily life, to make it a popular mode of transport while spreading the message of Fit India.
