Tripura Government is working giving priority to extend different facilities for the farmers to build self-reliant Tripura. This initiative of the government is playing a vital role in building self-reliant families.

With right management and entrepreneurial mentality, the youths of the state are not only setting up businesses on their own but are also creating work opportunities for others, stated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in an inaugural programme at Lembucherra recently. Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar commenced the programme. In the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister and Union Minister planted trees and then inaugurated library building of College of Fisheries extended Feed Mill and extended academic building. Before that the Chief Minister and Union Minister visited different exhibition stalls including Start-up and Self-Help Groups. They interacted with different successful farmers and entrepreneurs. Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar handed over fish fingerlings to beneficiaries. Then he unveiled the cover of annual publication of College of Fisheries. The guests presented awards to three students who achieved success in the ICAR entrance exam.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in the programme said, a dairy-based plant will soon be set up near Lembucherra investing 25 crore rupees which will play an important role in expanding dairy-based facilities and opportunities. With the joint efforts of the central and state governments, many have found a path of self-reliance through different facilities provided in primary sectors.

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar said, central government is giving priority to the socio-economic and overall development of the Northeast. Through Prime Minister’s guided path, a bunch of farmer’s welfare based policies are being implemented in the Northeast. Work is under progress taking the target to set up 10 thousand FPOs for the convenience of farmers of all levels and technology-based training in agricultural sector. Northeast is now forging ahead hand in hand with the overall development of the country. Young entrepreneurs with new thinking are moving ahead in primary sector including Start-ups. A big scope of opportunities has been extended for micro, medium and small enterprises.

State Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, success in agricultural sector was not hindered even in COVID-19 situation. Farmer’s income has also increased. MLA Krishnadhan Das, Vice Chancellor of Imphal University Dr. Anupam Mishra were also present in the programme yesterday.
