In the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, England defeated Bangladesh by 4 wickets at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati last night. England notch up their second win of the tournament, while Bangladesh have been handed their first defeat of the World Cup. After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 178 runs, with only 2 balls remaining in the stipulated 50 overs.
 
Sobhana Mostary was the top scorer with 60 runs, while Rabeya Khan also remained unbeaten with 43 runs. For England, Sophie Ecclestone bagged the highest 3 wickets. In response, England made it a hard-fought chase, but Heather Knight’s match-winning innings of 79 not out helped the side in securing victory. She also got the Player of the Match award for her unbeaten innings. In today’s fixture, Australia will face Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The match will begin at 3 PM, Indian Time.
