In a rally organized to raise awareness about the NIPUN Tripura Mission, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder has announced that a team from the Elementary Education Department of the state government will participate in the upcoming G20 Summit in Pune, Maharashtra.
The G20 Summit is scheduled to take place from June 17 to June 22, and the team from the state government will represent Tripura at the prestigious international event.
The rally, organized under the Janabhagidari Events initiative of the West District Education Office, focused on promoting the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Bharat Mission. The NIPUN Bharat Mission was launched by the Ministry of Education in alignment with the National Education Policy-2020, which aims to strike a balance between Indian ethos and effective learning processes.
Mayor Majumder has highlighted that the implementation of NIPUN Bharat in Tripura will prioritize elementary education, enabling students to become better readers and writers. The mission also emphasizes the importance of extracurricular activities to enhance students’ interest in studies.
Expressing appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mayor Majumder has stated that the state government is committed to implementing this noble initiative, aiming to make all children proficient in linguistics and mathematics by the end of Grade 3 by the academic year 2026-2027.
He has further explained that the NIPUN Mission will focus on creating meritorious girls in every school and will emphasize sports, education through project work, storytelling, and other innovative methods to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
The participation of the state’s Elementary Education Department team in the G20 Summit serves as recognition of Tripura’s efforts in the field of education and highlights the commitment to providing quality education and nurturing young talents in the state.
