The Enforcement Directorate has conducted search operations at eight locations in Mumbai, including Kutch in Gujarat, related to the illegal broadcasting of cricket matches and online betting activities by a private company.
During the searches, the ED seized assets worth four crore rupees, such as cash, bank funds, and silver bars. The ED said that the alleged company is being operated from Dubai, and the search action was carried out against individuals providing technical and financial management support services to the company.
The agency registered this case based on a complaint received from a private media venture. The venture had mentioned that the alleged company caused a loss of more than 100 crore rupees in revenue due to the illegal broadcasting activities.
