The Election Commission of India has debarred NGOs, Self Help Groups and Self Help Institutions from election related duties during Jharkhand Assembly Elections. The commission has instructed all District Election Officers in this regard. Chief Electoral Officer K.Ravi Kumar said, voters slips for the first phase of polling will be distributed till 8th of this month.

The Chief Electoral Officer also informed that since the announcement of the assembly elections, 151 crore rupees have been seized from different parts of state in search operations. So far, 31 FIRs have been lodged for violation of model code of conduct. The first phase of polling will be held on 13th while for second phase it will be held on 20th of this month. Counting of votes will be undertaken on 23rd November.
