EAM Jaishankar questions Western nations’ silence on terrorism, calls for unified global stand –

Must Read

External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar questioned Western nations for not supporting India’s position on terrorism and stressed the need for a more unified global response. Replying to media queries during a media briefing in Washington, Dr Jaishankar said that it is a fact that often countries do not take a position when some other countries are victims of terrorism, which they would do when they are. He said, in that respect, India has been much more consistent and principled. The Minister said, when terror attacks happen elsewhere outside India, New Delhi has largely followed the same position that it has taken when they have happened in India.

On US President Donald Trump’s remarks on the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Dr Jaishankar said, the record of what happened at that time was very clear, and the ceasefire was something which was negotiated between the DGMOs of the two countries.
