Durga Puja was celebrated with fervor and tradition throughout the state, though some regions observed a more subdued festival following the aftermath of recent floods. Despite the low-key nature in a few places, the festival saw massive participation as the weather remained favorable.

In Agartala, from Chaturthi to Dashami, the city’s pandals were filled with large gatherings of devotees. The streets echoed with the sound of traditional dhak, chants, and devotional songs. People, dressed in new clothes, visited brightly decorated pandals to offer Anjali to Maa Durga, especially on Maha Ashtami, which was marked by vibrant celebrations on Friday night.

Thanks to the efforts of the state administration, the festival passed peacefully, with no major untoward incidents reported. The authorities ensured tight security and smooth crowd management at key pandals across the city, with only a few minor road accidents reported.

As Dashami marked the conclusion of the Sharadiya festival, idol immersion commenced with traditional fanfare. The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) made comprehensive arrangements at Dashami Ghat for a smooth immersion process, ensuring adequate lighting and workforce deployment for public safety.

The festival ended with Sindoor Khela, as women joyfully smeared vermillion on each other, symbolizing the spirit of the occasion.
