The rebellion against the imposition of English language on Indians was the most glaring aspect in the trailer of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khans upcoming release Dunki. The trailer was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday.
In various parts of the trailer, Shah Rukh, his co-stars Vicky Kaushal and others were seen trying to manage speaking English to fulfill their dreams to go to London.
Frustrated over the struggle to speak English, Vicky questions whether foreigners know Punjabi even after staying in Punjab, India.
In the very next scene, Shah Rukh says, The British ruled us for 100 years. When they came to India, did we ask whether they know Hindi or not? If we hadnt stopped them from coming to India, how can they stop us?
Apart from Vicky, the film, which is directed by eminent filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, features Taapsee Pannu as Shah Rukhs girlfriend, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar and Boman Irani.
Yeh kahani maine shuru ki thi, Laltu se! Isey khatam bhi main hi karunga… apne Ullu de patthon ke saath. Dunkis trailer will show you a journey that began with Raju Sirs vision.
