Opposition leader and CPM Politburo member Manik Sarkar took strong exception to the claim of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha that law and order situation in the state did improve since 2018.
“Fact is simply otherwise. The law and order situation has deteriorated to its worst level during the BJP government in the state”, said the former Chief Minister as he visited two CPM cadres who had been assaulted allegedly by BJP’s bike borne activists at Camperbazaar area yesterday. The CPM had organized a Jhata at Camperbazaar in the outskirt of the city where some bike borne miscreants launched attacks on them. Two CPM cadres Sujoy Sarkar and Babul Banik had to be rushed to GB Hospital in serious condition.
“ The Chief Minister talks about Sushasan . But every day there are attacks and assaults in a planned manner on the opposition party workers. The Chief Minister’s claim does not stand anywhere near the ground level truth”, said Sarkar.
On Sunday’s attack , Sarkar said there were more than 35 miscreants and they were all ruling party workers who attacked at the CPI-M program.
All of them had their face covered by black masks and helmets.
In another programme at Narikel Kunj ADC area the CPM leaders castigated the ruling BJP for misrule and sweeping the ground level harsh reality under the carpet.
They alleged that while there was no employment , the education sector had virtually on the verge of collapse. Common men are hapless facing multifaceted problems under the BJP government. While youths are not getting any employment , MNREGA works were also not available for even more than one month, alleged the local CPM leaders. Later in a public meeting 105 voters of 57 families joined CPM quitting Congress, BJP other parties.
