Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha shared key highlights from his participation in the Chief Minister’s conclave held in Delhi on Sunday. The conclave, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focused on discussions covering 11 important points, including the progress of welfare schemes. Addressing the media at the civil secretariat on Monday, Dr. Saha provided insights into the state’s achievements in implementing various schemes.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief secretary J K Sinha and Secretary to ICA Dr Pradip Chakrabarty in the press meet.

Regarding the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Urban, the Chief Minister stated that Tripura has achieved a success rate of 73 percent in the past six months. During this period, the central government sanctioned 82,217 houses, out of which construction of 57,040 houses has already been completed. Similarly, the success rate in PMAY-Rural stands at an impressive 91.19 percent, benefiting 1,79,989 individuals with an expenditure of Rs. 1300 crore.

Dr. Saha also highlighted the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, indicating an achievement rate of 62.14 percent. The remaining works are expected to be completed by December 2023. Additionally, the Chief Minister shared that Tripura has achieved a commendable implementation rate of 94.62 percent in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He further discussed the successful implementation of various other schemes, including the Kisan Samman Nidhi, Gram Sadak Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Scheme, and Atal Pension Yojana.

Emphasizing the importance of GST collection, Dr. Saha mentioned that the meeting underscored the need for the state government to take strict initiatives to ensure effective GST collection.

The Chief Minister also highlighted initiatives for women empowerment, such as the provision of 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs, the formation of an all-women battalion in the Tripura State Rifles, and the activities of Self Help Groups (SHGs).

In addition to the Chief Minister’s conclave, Dr. Saha discussed the issues deliberated upon during the NITI Aayog meeting held in Delhi. Notably, he mentioned that materials from four states, including stones from Rajasthan, wood from Maharashtra, carpet from Uttar Pradesh, and bamboo tiles from Tripura, were used in the construction of the new Parliament building, which he also attended the inauguration of.
