Eminent Gynecologist of the state Dr Ela Lodh has been selected for the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar, 2020 (posthumously) for her exceptional contribution towards women’s empowerment. Dr Lodh passed away last year.
The Puraskar carries a certificate and a cash amount of Rupees Two Lakh. The award will be presented by the President of India in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on 8th March,on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Dr Lodh’s son Debanjan Lodh will accept the award.
The news of Dr Lodh nbeing awarded for the coveted Nari Shakti Puraskar came with a pleasant surprise and all were of the opinion that the right person had been chosen for the award.
