Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), B.L. Verma, reiterated the BJP-led government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing connectivity in the northeastern region of India. He expressed this dedication through a message on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In his statement, Minister Verma stated, “Government of India is committed to enhance connectivity throughout Northeast, including border areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Prosperity is increasing due to connectivity in the Northeast.”
As part of his announcement, Minister Verma shared a video showcasing the Nechiphu Tunnel, located in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The tunnel was virtually inaugurated by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh earlier this week.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously bestowed the title of ‘Ashta Lakshmi’ upon the eight North Eastern states, symbolizing the eight forms of the goddess of wealth. This gesture reflects the government’s aspiration to promote prosperity and development in the region.
The government’s multifaceted efforts in the Northeast encompass various aspects of transformation, including improvements in healthcare facilities, promotion of tourism, empowerment of the local populace, enhanced security measures, and above all, ensuring better connectivity. These initiatives aim to uplift the region and improve the quality of life for its residents, aligning with the government’s vision for inclusive growth and development.
