Winning the womens vault, Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar made India proud by becoming the first sportsperson from the country to clinch a gold medal in the Asian Senior Championships on Sunday.
On the medal-winning day in Uzbekistan, the Indian gymnast scored an average 13.566 in the vault final.
The silver and bronze medals went to North Koreans Kim Son Hyang (13.466) and Jo Kyong Byol (12.966).
She won the bronze medal in the same event in 2015.

Dipa became the first Indian gymnast to compete in the Olympics and finished fourth in the womens vault at Rio 2016.
The best display by any Indian woman gymnast in the Olympics so far.
