Empowered girl students from Dima Hasao meet Tripura Governor during Assam Rifles educational tour, highlighting tribal education, digital literacy, and youth empowerment in Northeast India through AROH initiative and inter-state exposure.

In a proud and inspiring moment, a group of girl students from Dima Hasao had the rare honour of interacting with Indrasena Reddy Nallu, the Governor of Tripura, during a special inter-state educational tour facilitated by the Assam Rifles.

The initiative marked a significant milestone in the students’ journey of learning, exposure, and empowerment, offering them an opportunity to step beyond their immediate surroundings and engage with broader perspectives.

The tour, organised by the 21 Sector of the Assam Rifles, brought together 21 girl students from various tribal communities of Assam. These students are currently undergoing training at a Free Computer Learning Centre run by A Ray of Hope (AROH), a dedicated non-governmental organisation based in Haflong. Accompanying the students were eight committed volunteers who have been actively supporting their academic and personal development.

The interaction with the Governor emerged as the highlight of the tour. In an engaging and motivational exchange, the students shared their stories of resilience and determination. They spoke about how access to education and digital literacy is transforming their lives, enabling them to dream bigger and aspire for independence and leadership roles in the future.

Their narratives reflected not only personal struggles but also a strong sense of purpose. Many of the participants are stepping outside their home district for the first time, making the experience even more transformative. The exposure to new environments, institutions, and leadership figures has significantly boosted their confidence.

Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu lauded the courage, ambition, and discipline displayed by the young learners. He also appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles and AROH in uplifting marginalised communities through meaningful and sustainable educational initiatives. According to an official press release, the interaction served as a powerful source of motivation for the students, reinforcing the values of knowledge, self-belief, and perseverance.

As part of the tour, the students are scheduled to visit several prominent landmarks in Tripura, including the Albert Ekka War Memorial, the historic Ujjayanta Palace, the scenic Neermahal, and the strategically significant ICP Agartala. These visits aim to broaden their understanding of history, culture, and national infrastructure.

Such initiatives reflect the continued commitment of the Assam Rifles towards nation-building and social outreach in the Northeast region. By focusing on empowering young tribal girls through education, digital access, and exposure, the organisation is playing a crucial role in fostering inclusivity and long-term development.

As these young girls return home with renewed confidence and aspirations, they carry with them the promise of a brighter and more empowered future—not only for themselves but for their communities as well.
