Dhalai district bagged NationalWaterAward as the Best District in the North East region.
Former District Magistrate of Dhalai district Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal took the award from President Droupadi Murmu in a programme in New Delhi.
The award has been given for constructing recharge structures, geo-tagging water bodies, and planting over 41 lakhs bamboo trees. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in a social media post congratulated the people of Dhalai district, administration and all concerned for the achievement.
