Delhi Metro extends late-night train services till 1:00 a.m. for IPL 2026 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at Arun Jaitley Stadium, ensuring smooth travel, crowd management, and safe return for thousands of cricket fans.

In a move aimed at ensuring smooth and hassle-free transportation for cricket fans, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced extended train services across its network on Wednesday night. The decision comes in view of the high-profile Indian Premier League 2026 clash between the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium.

According to officials, metro services on all corridors will operate beyond their usual timings, with last trains running until approximately 1:00 a.m. This extension is expected to benefit thousands of spectators attending the match, helping them return home safely after the late-night sporting event.

The DMRC stated that key metro lines, including the Airport Express Line, have been specifically adjusted to accommodate increased passenger demand. As per the revised schedule, the last train from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi on the Airport Express Line will depart at 1:00 a.m., ensuring connectivity even for those traveling to distant parts of the National Capital Region.

Several other lines have also seen revised timings. On the Red Line, the last train from Shaheed Sthal to Rithala will leave at 12:10 a.m., while the return service from Rithala to Shaheed Sthal is scheduled for 12:15 a.m. The Yellow Line will operate its final train from Samaypur Badli at 12:20 a.m., while the last service from HUDA City Centre will depart slightly earlier at 11:45 p.m.

The Blue Line, one of the busiest corridors, will see its last trains from Noida Electronic City and Vaishali towards Dwarka departing at midnight. Meanwhile, the Violet Line’s final service from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh is scheduled for 12:25 a.m. On the Pink Line, trains from Majlis Park will run until 12:12 a.m., while the Magenta Line will operate its last trains from Botanical Garden at 12:45 a.m. and from Janakpuri West at 12:30 a.m.

Officials emphasized that these extended services are part of a broader effort to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic following the match. Special crowd control measures will also be implemented at major interchange stations to ensure passenger safety and smooth movement.

The DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and make use of the “Momentum 2.0” mobile application for real-time updates and route planning. Passengers are also encouraged to recharge their smart cards beforehand to avoid long queues at ticket counters.

However, authorities clarified that the extended timings are subject to change depending on the actual conclusion of the match. If the game runs longer than anticipated, metro services may be further extended. Conversely, in case of an early finish, timings may be adjusted accordingly.

This initiative reflects the metro authority’s commitment to supporting major public events in the capital while prioritizing commuter convenience and safety. With thousands expected to flock to the stadium, the extended metro services are likely to play a crucial role in managing post-match transportation efficiently.
