Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today lauded Indian women for their active participation in Operation Sindoor. Speaking at the flag-in ceremony of INSV Tarini for the second leg of Navika Sagar Parikrama II in Goa, Singh said women pilots significantly contributed to air force attacks during the operation. Lieutenant Commander Rupa A described facing 20-foot waves and moments when the sea was calm and mirror-like, calling it a journey where time stood still. Lieutenant Commander Dilna K said the Defence Minister’s encouragement on International Women’s Day boosted their morale, making them feel humble before the vast ocean. Singh emphasized the importance of respecting nature rather than trying to conquer it. He praised the commanders for their extraordinary achievement of spending 238 days at sea and covering over 47,000 kilometers. He said the nation is proud of their feat and acknowledged that India’s daughters continue to prove their mettle, from the heights of Siachen to the depths of the seas.
