In the US, the death toll from the Texas floods has risen to at least 120. In Kerr County alone, at least 150 people are still missing. NASA has deployed two aircraft to assist in the ongoing recovery operations in Texas. In a statement, it said, the aircraft are part of the response from NASA’s Disaster Response Coordination System. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Meanwhile, heavy rains in New Mexico have triggered flash floods, killing at least three people. Municipal officials in the town of Ruidoso said that the flooding occurred on Tuesday afternoon, with monsoon rains causing the Rio Ruidoso river to swell to 20 feet, surpassing the previous record by five feet.
