Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said though the crime rate in Tripura on the decline fast, the state government’s endeavour is to bring it down to zero.
Addressing the programme at the inaugural of the newly-constructed building of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge (Jr. Division) Court at Amarpur on Thursdayhe saidt the number of crimes against women had come down significantly following the efforts made by the judiciary and the administration.
The Chief Minister said that the Chief Justice and other sitting judges of the High Court of Tripura were making notable efforts in delivering justice to the people.
The BJP-IPFT government laid special focus on infrastructure development in the judiciary for strengthening the system up to the sub-division level. Multiple, new court complexes were already built and inaugurated over the last couple of months.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Justice drew attention of the Chief Minister on renovation of various courts and staff quarters, infrastructure development, and increasing budget allocation. He said, the role of the court is like a pressure bulb in a pressure cooker. In the judicial system or in the matter of disposal of any case, one side always remains disappointed, Justice Kureshi said.
Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura- Justice Akil Kureshi, other sitting Judges- Justice S. Talapatra, Justice Arindam Lodh and Justice S.G. Chottopadhyay, Law Secretary B. Palit, Registrar General Datamohan Jamatia and Advocate General Siddhartha Sankar Dey were present in the inaugural ceremony.
