Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha slammed the CPI(M) for attempting to impose Communist and Chinese ideologies on students in schools and colleges during the 70s. Chief Minister was inaugurating the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (AVBP) at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.

The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the youth as one of the biggest resources for building the country and the state.

He stated, “India’s greatest asset is its youth. Approximately 65 per cent of the country’s total population comprises young individuals, and it fills us with pride. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognizes the youth as one of the greatest assets of the country. However, during the 70s, the condition of schools and colleges was very poor. There were attempts to impose Communist ideas, Marxism, Leninism, and Chinese ideologies on students during that time. Students were regularly exposed to teachings from the ‘Red Book’ and were subject to brainwashing. Thankfully, the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) has now become influential in schools and colleges. They aspire to serve the country and make it stronger. This generation has successfully overcome the destructive mindset of communists, largely due to the motivation provided by ABVP,” said Dr. Saha.

The Chief Minister said everyone has to work thinking about the future so that people remember the work in the future.

“And this work can be done by the youth. ABVP should be honest and devoted. They have to take responsibility to build a self-reliant India, a self-reliant Tripura. That is why Swami Vivekananda’s ideology should be followed”, he said.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister called upon the youth to come forward to build a drug-free Tripura.

In this context, the Chief Minister also mentioned that generations after generations were destroyed due to intoxication during the communist period.

ABVP Karyakartas Kamal Kundu, Bishwanath Roy, and others were present on the occasion.
